Artillery 12 Pounder Case-Shot Half Shell

This artillery 12 pounder case-shot is a Virginia recovery which was professionally sawed in half exposing its contents of lead balls. The lead balls measure approximately .64 inch in diameter and the case-shot measures approximately 4.5 inches in diameter. In the additional images with the balls removed from the shell, the indentations where the balls rested on the inside of the shell, are still clearly visible. This fine case-shot half shell will be an excellent educational display piece to add to any excavated Civil War artilery or general relic collection.
