3 Inch Type I Hotchkiss Case-Shot Nose

Construction: Cast iron with lead case shot.
Approximate size: Weight: 4.8 pounds. Diameter: 2.9 inches. Length: 5.5 inches.
Condition: Excellent, excavated, light pitting with no repairs. The threads in the fuze hole are visible as well as the lead case-shot and flame tube.
Comments: This type I Hotchkiss "case-shot" nose would have used a solder time fuze adaptor. This artillery relic is particularly special because the lead case shot and flame tube are both visible making this artillery relic a great educational tool. It will also be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War artillery or general relic collection.
