Austrian Lorenze Bayonet

SOLD

This excavated Austrian Lorenze Rifle bayonet is in very good condition and was recovered in the area of Wilderness, VA. These distinctive bayonets have four sides and an example can be found in the "Weapons and Equipment" section of Howard Crouch's reference book, "Civil War Artifacts" on page 77, item #4. The bayonet is complete with the locking ring with screw.  It is approximately 21 7/8 inches in length, with a socket length of approximately 3 1/8 inches, and the inside diameter of the socket is approximently .72 inches.  This bayonet is in its raw excavated state and, while its iron is pitted and rusty, it is amazingly good solid condition. It has no bends, breaks, or repairs and will be an excellent addition to any excavated weapon or general relic collection.
