Confederate Artillery - Lined "A" Button

SOLD

Backmark: Blank
Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 23 mm.
Condition: Fair, excavated, secure shank present. The button has a very pleasing light pea green patina.  When recovered the button back was present but separated from the button body.  Using small spots of clear cement the digger re-attached the back.  There is a push to the upper portion of the letter "A" but no other issues with the front.
Comments: Included in the additional images of the button is an image of the digger's index card indicating, in most cases, the button's identification, assessment of condition, recovery date & location and other general information. In the unlikely event where there are discrepancies between the digger's description and Virginia Relic's description, Virginia Relic's description shall be deemed correct.  This button comes direct from the digger's family and will be an excellent display piece for any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
Recovered: June 1990 in Henrico County, VA
