Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 23 mm.
Condition: Very Good, excavated, secure shank present. This CS infantry button, with its very pleasing dusty brown-green patina, has a very slight push to the front.  Otherwise, there are no cracks, breaks, or repairs. The backmark is there, but weak.
Comments:  Click on the Fisher's Hill link below for information about the battle where Maj. Gen. Philip Sheridan [US] met Lt. Gen. Jubal A. Early [CS] with a combined total of 38,944 troops.  This Confederate infantry coat button will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
