Confederate Lined Infantry Coat Button

Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 23 mm.
Condition: Good, excavated, secure shank present. This CS infantry button, with its very pleasing dusty brown-green patina, has a push to the front and a very small hairline fracture near the shank.  Otherwise, there are no breaks or repairs. The backmark is there, but weak.
Comments:  Click on the Namozine Church link below for information about the battle where Maj. Gen. George A. Custer [US] met Maj. Gen. Fitzhugh Lee [CS] during the Appomattox Campaign.  This Confederate infantry coat button will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
