Item: Excavated Confederate .50 caliber breechloading carbine bullet.
Condition: Excellent with a white patina and visible mold seam. 
Comments:  This bullet is very similar in appearance to what diggers and collectors refer to as a Macon Arsenal bullet or M&M 305, however, new information regarding this bullet can be found in Dean Thomas' reference book, "Round Ball to Rimfire", Part Four, on page 196.  See additional pictures for an image of this page of the book or click here.
