Item: Excavated Confederate Nesler pattern bullet for .69 caliber smoothbore musket.
Condition: Fair. The bullet has a white patina with a digger's nick on one side and a period dent in the base rim on the other side.
Comments: According to the Dean Thomas reference book, Round Ball to Rimfire, Part Four, on page 238, item No. 588, these bullets were "fabricated at the N.C. Institute for the Deaf & Dumb and the Blind". This bullet will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War bullet display.

Approximate size: .67 inch. diameter x .60 inch. length
