1864 Frankford Arsenal 5 Second Fuze Pack

This is an original 1864 Union Frankford Arsenal five second fuze pack containing five unused fuzes for artillery cannon shells. These fuzes would have been inserted into a fuze adaptor (also available on this website) which was either screwed or hammered into an artillery shell. Inside the tan paper wrapper is a wood block holding the fuzes. The printing on the paper is still very legible and, the paper on the front and sides, is in excellent shape, however the rear shows some tearing exposing the wood block. The canvas pull strips are intact and impressions of the five individual fuze ends are clearly visible in the paper of the bottom end of the package as can be seen in the additional images to the left of this description. This fuze pack will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War artillery, battlefield, or general relic collection.
