Musket Lock

SOLD

This musket lock with hammer was acquired directly from the digger who recovered it from Harrison's Landing in Charles City County, VA. Harrison's Landing is located along the James River where General George McClellan camped during the summer of 1862 after the battle of Malvern Hill. Constructed of iron, the lock’s surface has heavy, but now stable ground action. The surface was clear coated by the digger so as to prevent any further deterioration. It measures approximately 5-1/4 inches in length and is 2-7/8 inches in height. This excavated relic of the Civil War will be an excellent display piece and a nice addition to any excavated Civil War firearm or general relic collection.
