Construction: High convex, three-piece.
Approximate size: 22 mm.
Condition: Excellent, excavated, secure shank present. This button has ample gilt with no pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Comments:  Click on the Chancellorsville link below for information about the battle where Maj. Gen. Joseph Hooker [US] met Gen. Robert E. Lee and Maj. Gen. Thomas J. Jackson [CS], with a combined total of 154,734 troops and 24,000 casualties, resulting in a Confederate victory.  This New York coat button will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
