Confederate 12 Pounder Side Loader Case Shot

SOLD

This excavated Confederate 12 pounder side loader case-shot with lead plug is a excellent example of artillery that has not yet been overly cleaned, coated, and made shiny. It is in very good condition and was recovered in Petersburg, VA in the 1960's by Grayson Morris of Hopewell, VA. Its copper fuse adaptor is present as well as its lead plug. The iron surface of the ball shows mild pitting and its overall weight is approximately 10 pounds. It has been professionally deactivated, is ready for display and will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War artillery or general relic collection.
