2.9 Inch Caliber Read-Parrott Shell

This 2.9 inch caliber Read-Parrott shell is in very good condition and will be an excellent display piece. Its iron sabot and the very lower portion of its zinc time fuse adaptor are still present. The overall condition of the iron is good with moderate surface pitting and two divots on one side (one quarter size and one dime size). The threads in the adaptor hole are not clearly visible due to ground action. It has been cleaned, deactivated, run through electrolysis, and clear coated so as to preserve it. Its length is approximately 8 1/4 inches and it weighs approximately 8.4 lbs. This projectile will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War artillery or general relic collection.
