Cooking Pot & Ladle

SOLD

This post-Civil War cast iron pot and ladle are not Civil War period pieces, but they will make an excellent display for a campsite setting display or simply set on a fireplace hearth filled with Civil War bullets. The pot's diameter measures approximately 8 inches and is 4 1/2 inches in depth. The ladle is 19 inches in overall length is 4 inches across from pour lip to pour lip of the cup. The bottom center of the pot has a recessed mark of L-0308-A with a raised numeral "8" at its bottom edge which is likely to be a molder's mark. The ladle has the mark of "3 1/2" about midway on its handle likely indicating its actual cup size. As mentioned above this pot and ladle will be an excellent campsite display or actually could be used today for cooking or melting some material.
