New York Belt Buckle - Broad Letters

Item: Excavated State of New York oval waist belt plate with broad letters "SNY".
Construction: Stamped thin sheet brass with raised broad letters "SNY". Rear with solder fill and stud type (aka puppy paw) attachment hooks under the "S" for right hand use, with one thick single tapered hook at that opposite end.
Condition: Excellent, excavated. Its brass front has aged into a nice brown patina. The plate still retains its original body curve. The rear has a complete complement of solder with the exception of some minor surface flaking. While this stable plate has some very minor rim bending and ground action resulting from its time spent buried in the ground, it has no cracks, breaks, repairs or major bends.
Comments: This pattern, with the broad letters "SNY", is a more difficult pattern to recover and this plate will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War plate or general relic collection.
