US Belt Buckle Marked "Boyd & Sons Boston"

Item: Excavated US oval waist belt plate marked "BOYD & SONS BOSTON".
Construction: Stamped thin sheet brass, with solder fill, and stud type attachment hooks.
Condition: Excellent. Its brass front is flawless with a dull golden light brown patina with no cracks or breaks.  The rear has nearly all of its solder with some very minor surface flaking.  The manufacturer's mark is almost all there with the exception of part of "BOYD" (See additional close-up images).  The buckle has no bends or repairs.
Comments:  This buckle is a water find and was recovered from the Rappahannock River here in Virginia.  It will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War plate or general relic collection.

Approximate size: 56 x 86 mm.
