US Belt Plate

This excavated US belt plate is in good condition and was recovered off Dispatch Road in Quinton, VA. Its brass face, has raised letters “US”, with an even brown patina, with no cracks or breaks. The rear has a complete complement of solder with one of the three attachment hooks missing. Carved into the lead is what appears to be a cross, The plate has no bends or repairs and will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War plate or general relic collection.
