Backmark: "W. WILDT & SON / RICHMOND, VA."
Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 22 mm.
Condition: Excellent, excavated, secure shank present. The button has a brown-green patina with moderate ground action. No pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Comments: Though the button is better looking in hand than in the images in this listing, the real displayable side is the rear with its gilt filled channel nicely highlighting the very readable back mark. This Virginia button will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
Recovered: Cedar Creek, VA.
