Construction:  Low convex, one-piece,
Approximate size:  20 mm
Condition:  Excellent, non-excavated, secure shank present.  This pretty button is covered with silver plate.  It has no cracks, breaks, bends, or repairs.  There is a tiny bit of wire wrapped around the shank.

Construction:  High convex, two-piece.
Approximate size:  22 mm.
Condition:  Excellent, excavated, secure shank present.  The gilt remaining on this large infantry button, with its chocolate brown patina, beautifully high-lights the eagle, its shield, and letter "I".  It has no pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs and will be an excellent addition to any Civil War button or general relic collection.

                  Federal Cavalry Coat Button

Backmark:  "* GODDARD & BRO * / EXTRA" dm
Construction:  High convex, two-piece.
Approximate size:  20 mm.
Condition:  Excellent, excavated, secure shank present.  The brass has a light chocolate brown patina and there is just enough gilt remaining on this fine cavalry button to high-light the eagle, its shield, and letter "C".  It has no pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs and will be an excellent addition to any Civil War button or general relic collection.

                 US Infantry and Cavalry Buttons

These three excavated buttons all recovered in New Kent County, VA consist of (from L-R) a US Infantry button (approx. 14 mm.),  a US cavalry button (approx. 16 mm.), and a US infantry button (approx. 14 mm.).  The cavalry button has a hole in its face and the infantry button to the right has a bachelor ring.  All three have secure shanks with no visible back marks.  These buttons will be an excellent addition to any excavated button or general relic collection.   $55.00   Order Information  or  Questions?

Backmark:  "H. BROS & ALLIEN / . N. Y." rmdc
Construction:  Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size:  20 mm.
Condition:  Excellent, excavated, secure shank present.  This pretty button, acquired direct from the digger, has plenty of gilt remaining and a very slight push just below the eagles left wing.  Marked by the digger on the rear are the letters "FH" indicating its recovery location of Fisher's Hill, VA.

Backmark:  A raised mark in a depressed channel (rmdc) is there, but difficult to see.
Construction:  Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size:  23 mm.
Condition:  Fair, excavated, solid shank attached.  A slight bit of gilt remains in the area of "VERMONT".  While this button shows substantial wear on an even brown patina, it has no pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
