2.9 Inch Read-Parrott Shell

Item: Fired Federal 2.9 inch Read-Parrott shell.
Construction: Cast iron with thick iron ring sabot.
Fuzing: Parrott zinc fuze plug.
Approximate size: Weight: 8.6 pounds. Diameter: 2 7/8 inches. Length: 8-9/16 inches.
Condition: Very good, excavated, with light surface pitting and rust build-up. This shell has been professionally deactivated and there are no repairs.
Recovered: Petersburg, VA area.
Comments: This artillery shell will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War artillery or general relic collection.
