This non-excavated .52 caliber Sharps "New Model" 1859 bullet mold is constructed of iron and is in good condition. It is single cavity with the nipper or sprue cutter at the very end, opposite the handles. One of the handles is marked "NEW MODEL 1859 / 52". The iron has a heavy dark patina and the bullet cavities are crisp with the exception of the edges. Its overall length measures approximately 8 3/4 inches. This Sharps carbine bullet mold will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War firearm, campsite, or general relic collection.
