Item: Excavated US Model 1855 .58 Caliber Rifle/Musket Socket Bayonet - Marked "US"
Construction: Steel
Condition: Very good, excavated. Moderate ground action but solidly intact. The stamped letters "US" are present and readable. The locking ring with screw are present and there are no bends or repairs.
Recovered: Wilderness, VA
Approximate size: 21 inches
Comments: This bayonet also fits the US model 1861 & 1863 rifle/musket and will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War bayonet, weapon, or general relic collection.
