.69 Caliber French Triangle Base Bullet

Item: Confederate French Pattern .69 Caliber "Triangle Base" Bullet
Condition: Excellent, excavated, unfired. Semi-smooth surface with grey-white patina. The bullet's skirt is nicely rounded. There is mild base chipping and a very small surface chip in the side of the rim at the base. No repairs.
Recovered: Banks Ford area Stafford, VA.
Approximate size: .685 inch diameter; .897 inch length, 539 grains weight.

Comments: This bullet was acquired directly from the Virginia digger. Included in the additional images is a scanned image of the digger (on far left), with his hunting buddies and their detectors. It will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War bullet or general relic collection.
