Artillery, Rail, & Bullet Relics - Farmville & Petersburg, VA Recoveries

SOLD

These relics consisting of six bullets (three dropped & three fired), an iron spike, bracket, and artillery shrapnel are all items recovered in areas of either Farmville or Petersburg, VA according to the accompanying typed index cards. The spike is likely from a rail line and measures approximately 6-1/4 inches in length. Two of the fired bullets are nicely mushroomed, with one identified as a Williams type III cleaner bullet. As a preservative measure, all of the iron has been treated. The “Cannonball to a twelve pounder” listed as item 2 on the Petersburg card, is not included, as it was not included when these relics were acquired. The group will be an excellent display in any den, family room or office as well as a fine addition to any excavated Civil War relic collection.
