This chunk of wood has a visible fired bullet still solidly lodged inside as shown in the image. It was recovered from a Civil War site in the Trevilians, VA area. The deformed bullet has a grey patina and appears to be .58 caliber in size with rings. The decayed wood is very old, light-weight and still intact. Its overall weight is approximately 1-1/4 ounces and it measures approximately 7/8 x 1-1/2 x 3-7/8 inches. No repairs.
