Item: Carved .69 Caliber Three Ring Bullet
Description: Excavated .69 caliber three ring bullet carved or flattened at its tip to form a plateau with an interesting carved symbol, perhaps religious. The bullet, with rings visible, has a waxy bright white surface patina. There is minor damage on one side and its skirt is out of round.
Recovered: Quantico, VA area.
Approximate size: .684 inch diameter; .992 inch length; 656 grains weight (diameter and length measurements vary due to distortion).
Comments: This bullet carving artwork was likely created by an idle soldier and will be excellent addition to any excavated Civil War bullet, campsite, or general relic collection.
