Camp Carved Bullet

SOLD

This excavated camp carved bullet was recovered from a campsite in an area occupied by the 47th Virginia Infantry, Evansport, VA and was acquired directly from the Virginia relic digger. Occasionally bullets are recovered with whittle marks or, in rare instances, intricate carvings, hand-crafted by soldiers using their pocket knives just to pass the time. This nicely carved bullet has a very pleasing waxy dull white patina. Carve marks are clearly visible and this bullet would have made a excellent pawn for chess board or perhaps just a nicely carved bullet. It measures approximately .571 x 1.04 inches and will be an excellent addition to any excavated carved Civil War bullet or general relic collection.  Click the following link for more information on the 47th Virginia Volunteer Infantry Regiment.
