Item: Confederate Artillery Coat Button

Description: Roman "A" on a plain field.
Construction: Low convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 23 mm.
Condition: Good, excavated, secure shank present bent over to back. The front has an even rich brown patina with several moderate pushes and hairline fracture at the 9:30 position of the rim extending into the letter "A". The rear is pushed in. The button is solid with no repairs.
Recovered: Spotsylvania County, VA area.

Comments: This Confederate artillery button was just acquired directly from the local Virginia digger and will be an excellent addition to any Civil War button or general relic collection.
