Confederate Fifty Cent Note - April 6, 1863

This Confederate fifty cent note, dated April 6, 1863, is in fair condition. It was printed by "Archer & Daly. Richmond, Va." and shows a medallion portrait of President Jefferson Davis and a serial number in red of "4571". Printed on the note is the following: "Richmond April 6th..1863 / The Confederate States of America / Will pay FIFTY CENTS to bearer." The note paper is soft, has edge nicks, creases, and several pinholes visible if held up to a light. The note was originally printed on pink paper and has printed facsimile signatures of Register Robert Tyler. and Treasurer E. C. Elmore. Ref. Criswell T-63. This note will be an excellent addition to any Civil War currency or general relic collection.
