Description: Roman "I" on a plain field.
Construction: Medium convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 23 mm.
Condition: Very good, excavated, secure shank present and bent to button back. Very pleasing rich brown patina with no pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Recovered: Spotsylvania County, VA area.

Comments: These Richmond back marked buttons are among my favorites. This example was just acquired directly from the local Virginia digger and it will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
