Printer: B. Duncan of Columbia, SC. ("Richmond" was put on some plates in anticipation of a return to the capital, this is one of those notes.)
Design:
 The front shows Industry seated between Cupid and a beehive in the center with a bust of A. H. Stephens to the left and an allegorical scene to the right. The note is hand numbered in red and signed. Printed on the note is "SIX MONTHS AFTER THE RATIFICATION OF A TREATY OF PEACE BETWEEN THE CONFEDERATE STATES & THE UNITED STATES / THE CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA / Will pay TWENTY DOLLARS to Bearer. / RICHMOND, / September 2, 1861. / FUNDABLE IN EIGHT PER CENT STOCK OR BONDS OF THE CONFEDERATE STATES. / RECEIVABLE IN PAYMENT OF ALL DUES EXCEPT EXPORT DUTIES. / B DUNCAN. RICHMOND".  Rear is blank.
Approximate size: 3 x 6-7/8 inches.
Condition:
 Very fine. Borders are nearly complete, creasing from folds, tiny pinholes visible if held up to a light, minor discoloration.
