Confederate Twenty Dollar Note

This original Confederate twenty dollar note is in good condition, is dated February 17, 1864, and printed by "Keatinge & Ball. Columbia, S.C.". The note is hand numbered and signed, and was issued showing the Tennessee state capitol in the middle. Confederate Vice-President Alexander Stephens is pictured in the lower right hand corner. Printed on the note is "THE CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA / Will pay TWENTY DOLLARS to the bearer on demand. / Richmond, February 17th..1864". The rear, shows a large "TWENTY" with four circular medallions with the numeral "20" at the corners on blue ink. The paper is crisp with nearly complete borders, but does show minor discoloration, creases, edge wear, and one pinhole. This handsome note will come in a clear acid free envelope for preservation and display and will be an excellent addition to any Civil War note or general relic collection. Ref. Criswell T-67.
