Item: Confederate Two Dollar Note - 1864
Design: The front shows a numeral "2" in the center with a portrait of Judah P. Benjamin, Secretary of State and Secretary of War for the Confederate States of America, to the right. The note is hand numbered and signed. Printed on the front of the note beginning at the top: "Richmond Feb.y. 17th..1864. / Two years after the ratification of a treaty of peace between the Confederate States & the United States of America, / The Confederate States of America / Will pay to the bearer on demand / TWO DOLLARS". The rear is blank. / Engraved & Printed by Keatinge & Ball." . The rear is blank.
Condition: Good. The soft paper has one tiny pinhole, creasing, and a missing border. Three small numerals in pencil are present on the rear.
