County of Fluvanna, VA One Dollar Note - Dated 1862

This original Confederate County of Fluvanna One Dollar note is in good condition and is dated "July 1st, 1862.".  Printed on the note is "No. 1880 State of Virginia, Fluvanna County, / $1 / July 1st, 1862. THE COUNTY OF FLUVANNA, / Will pay to bearer in currency / ONE DOLLAR, / On 1st January, 1863, or whenever thereafter presented in sums of Five Dollars or its multiple; and this note is receivable for all dues to the county of Fluvanna." It is hand numbered and signed. A sailing ship is printed on the left side. The rear has partial images indicating that this note is printed on the back of another cut up obsolete note. The paper is moderately crisp with nearly complete borders. There is minor discoloration, creasing, corner folds and one pin hole. It measures approximately 2-1/4 x 5-5/8 inches. This note will come in a clear acid free envelope for preservation and display and will be an excellent addition to any Civil War note or general relic collection.
