Enfield Gun Tool on Root

SOLD

This excavated Enfield gun tool part was recovered by Henry Foster in the area of Wilderness, Va. It was dug with a twelve inch section of vegetation root which grew directly through its center hole. Still solidly attached to one end of the tool is its cork screw type bullet extractor. Interestingly, the root is flared on one side of the hole and is likely a result of continued to grow even though it could no longer fit. This relic will be an excellent display piece to include in any Civil War campsite, battlefield, or general relic collection.
