This excavated Liberty seated silver quarter is dated 1853 and is in good condition. The coin has minimal ground action with little wear. The obverse has lines that appear to have been intentionally scratched into it due to their concentric nature. The reverse has outstanding detail and is one of my favorite designs with the eagle with rays. There are no cracks, breaks, bends, or repairs. It will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War period coin, campsite, soldier personal item, or general relic collection.
