Item: Georgia State Seal Coat Button
Backmark: Blank with depressed channel.
Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 23 mm.
Condition: Excellent, excavated, secure shank present. This solid button has a smooth and even brown patina with no pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs. While the face of this button shows wear, its design of three pillars supporting an arch, bearing the word "Constitution", are visible. Banners wrapping the pillars have the three words, "Wisdom", "Justice", and "Moderation" but are only partially visible.
Recovered: During the 1970s from the Petersburg, VA area.
