This excavated 1863 dated Indian Head cent is in good condition and was recovered in the area of Harpers Ferry, WV. The coin has little wear and a very pleasing dark brown patina with no cracks, breaks, bends, or repairs. Interestingly, the coin has what appears to be a casting flaw on the reverse which can be seen in the additional images. It will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War period coin, campsite, soldier personal item, or general relic collection.
