This large brass box lock key was recovered in the area of Peebles' Farm, Dinwiddie County, VA by a Civil War relic hunter. The key has a very pleasing dusty green-brown patina and measures approximately 4-1/2 inches in length. It would likely have been used in a door box lock for a late 18th or 19th century home. An image of a box lock of that period is included in the additional images found in this listing This key will be an excellent addition to any home site relic collection.
