This excavated bar lead was recovered from the Bartow, WV area along with a handful of other Civil War relics. It was here that a small battle occurred on October 3, 1861 and was then known as "Camp Bartow" which was situated along the Greenbrier River. Bar lead was melted over a hot fire and poured into a mold to form bullets. This portion measures approximately 5-3/4 x 1-1/4 inches and weighs 1.2 pounds. It will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War bullet, campsite, or general relic collection.
