Mississippi Infantry Cuff Button

Backmark: "Hyde & Goodrich. / N. O." dm
Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 15 mm.
Condition: Excellent, excavated, secure shank present. The button has a brown patina with gilt beautifully high-lighting most of "MISSISSIPPI", the star and letter "I". It has no pushes, cracks, breaks or repairs.
Comments: This button will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
Recovered: In Culpeper County, VA in the area of Cole's Hill (Cole's Hill was the site of a Union signal station in 1862-1863 - Click the preceding Cole's Hill link to view it on map in lower right corner).
