Federal Parrott Time Fuse Adaptor

Item: Federal Parrott time fuze adaptor.
Construction: Zinc
Approximate size: Diameter: 1.07 inches. Length: 1.39 inches.
Condition: Very good, excavated with no cracks, breaks, or repairs.
Recovered: Petersburg, VA
Comments: This adaptor has not been cleaned and still has that fresh out of the ground appearance. Petersburg soil is still lodged inside its cavity. The two spanner holes, visible on the top of the adaptor and to either side of the center hole, accommodated a wrench used to screw it into the shell. Once the adaptor was in place, a paper time fuze, was inserted into the center hole. This adaptor will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War artillery or general relic collection.
