Item: Pattern-1853 .577 Caliber Enfield Rifle/Musket Socket Bayonet
Construction: Iron
Condition: Excellent, possible battlefield pick-up, barn, or attic find. Minimal rusting and pitting. The locking ring with screw are present and fixed in place. The tiny white specks visible in the images of the locking ring and socket is white paint that could easily be removed. There are no bends, breaks, or repairs.
Recovered: Unknown
Approximate size: 20-1/2 inches overall length; 3 inch socket length.
Comments: This solid Enfield bayonet will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War bayonet, weapon or general relic collection.
