Comments:  This bayonet was just excavated by a local Virginia relic hunter and is in remarkably good condition for iron that has been in the ground for approximately 158 years. The digger reported that is was it was recovered at a depth of approximately two feet which may have helped to preserve it. If you like that "dug relic" appearance then this is bayonet is for you and it will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War bayonet, edged weapon, or general relic collection.
