Starr Carbine Butt Plate

This excavated butt plate from a Starr carbine is constructed of solid cast brass and is in good condition. Its brass surface, with its green patina, has ground action in the form of a moderate layer of residue build-up. It was recovered Winchester, VA and measures approximately 1-3/8 x 4-5/8 inches. It has no cracks, breaks, bends, or repairs. An example of a complete Starr carbine with butt plate are included in the additional images. Starr butt plates are rarely recovered and this example will be an excellent addition to any Civil War carbine, firearm, or general relic collection.
