Two Cent Piece Dated 1864

This excavated two cent piece dated 1864 is in good condition and was recovered in the area of Dinwiddie County, VA. Dinwiddie County was the site of six Civil War battles, five of which occurred between March 29 and April 2, 1865. The coin, with its green patina, has minimal ground action with little wear. There are no cracks, breaks, bends, or repairs. It will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War period coin, campsite, soldier personal item, or general relic collection.
