This excavated US belt buckle and four shot bullets are nicely displayed in a heavy wood glass top display case. The buckle is in fair condition and its sheet brass front with the long tall raised letters "US" has a pleasing light green patina. There is rim bending with a small portion missing at the 10 o'clock position of the "U" end. There are also 3-4 freeze cracks in the brass. The rear, with the arrow style belt attachment hooks, has nearly all of its solder remaining. The belt plate measures approximately 59 x 89 mm. The four shot bullet and buckle were recovered in the Fredericksburg, VA area. The display case is included and measures approximately 5 x 10 x 1-7/8 inches. This very handsome display will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War buckle, plate, or general relic collection.
