Scans of these pages are included in the additional images.

Comments:
US cartridge box plates with over-sized brass loops are significantly harder to recover than the typical iron looped box plate, and all plate collections should include an example. Of the US cartridge box plates recovered, approximately 99% will have smaller iron attachment loops or at least remnants thereof. These rarer plates have always had an association with Ohio troops. According to O'Donnell and Campbell's buckle reference book, "American Military Belt Plates", the brass loops of these 1839 pattern plates, can also be found on the 1826 pattern eagle plate, as well as the flat letter style Ohio "OVM" cartridge box plate and Ohio state seal shoulder plates. This US cartridge box plate with brass loops will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War plate or general relic collection.
