This Civil War relic display includes five excavated CS & US artillery fuse parts all recovered from various areas of the Petersburg, VA campaign. They were acquired directly from the Virginia relic hunter who kept detailed records of his finds. Included from left to right: Top row: 2 Federal Bormann fuse iron underplugs. Bottom row: Confederate brass fuse adaptor top (distorted), Federal Schenkl brass fuse anvil cap, and Federal Schenkl brass fuze top portion. Stamped into the Federal Schenkl brass fuze top portion is: "J. P. SCHENKL PAT. OCT. 16. 1861". They are nicely displayed and labeled in a 6-1/4 x 8-1/4 x 3/4 inch glass top display case which will be included. The items are held in place by the pressure of the glass top resting upon the items and the rear felt covered batting material. The case and its glass top are secured by straight pins on either side of the box. These artillery fuse parts will be an excellent display for any office, den, or family room, and will also be a great gift for the American history buff.
