Virginia State Seal Coat Button

Construction: Convex, two-piece.
Approximate size: 22.5 mm.
Condition: Very good, excavated, secure shank present. The button has a dark brown patina. There is enough gilt remaining that nicely highlights the figures of Virtus and Tyranny as well as "VIRGINIA" and the motto of "SIC SEMPER TYRANNIS".  While there is a slight bit of ground action present in the upper area of the button's front surface, there are no pushes, cracks, breaks, or repairs.

Comments: This Virginia button will be an excellent addition to any excavated Civil War button or general relic collection.
